Memories and Memoir
A Writing Class with Nicoletta LaMarca-Sacco
Memories often begin as fragments — a scent, a phrase, a kitchen table, a long car ride. When shaped with intention, they become stories. And when those stories are woven together, they become memoir.
In Memories and Memoir, we will explore how personal memories can transform into compelling narrative. Through guided prompts, shared discussion, and reflective journaling, participants will begin crafting stories rooted in nostalgia, childhood moments, life passages, and defining experiences.
This class is both generative and instructional. You will:
Respond to thoughtfully designed writing prompts
Start (or deepen) a journaling practice
Learn techniques for making prose engaging and vivid
Explore structure — grouping stories into themes and meaningful chapters
Begin shaping personal experiences into memoir
Whether you have always wanted to write your story or are just beginning to explore the page, this class offers a supportive space to start now.
